Oregon State Bar PResident’s Award for Innovation & Technology, 2023
This award recognizes an individual or entity that has made a significant contribution in Oregon toward promoting the respect for the rule of law, improving the quality of legal services or increasing access to justice through new technology or other innovations.
American Legal Technology Award, 2023
This award is for excellence in creative innovation and technology in the legal industry for the purposes of (1) expanding our understanding of what is possible, (2) encouraging a virtuous cycle of improvement, and (3) creating a more just society. This award is for the Judicial Innovation Fellowship, which displays outstanding use of innovation that achieves a significant benefit to the courts.
Schmidt Innovation Fellow, 2022
The Innovation Fellows Program supports extraordinary mid-career individuals and teams with ideas to leverage technology thoughtfully to solve important societal challenges. The program aims to serve as a force multiplier for their ideas and to bring them together into a community to support one another and mentor others. This award supports the Judicial Innovation Fellowship.
University of Oregon School of Law Outstanding Recent Alumni award, 2022
The Outstanding Recent Alumni Award is awarded to an Oregon Law graduate who has made significant career, leadership, or service contributions to their community, the School of Law, or the legal profession. The award recognizes accomplishments within their first 10 years after graduation.

Honoring the law’s smartest, most courageous innovators, techies, visionaries, & leaders. Lawyer or nonlawyer, techie or nontechie.
American Society of Business Publication Editors, 2018-20
The award recognizes outstanding work by magazines and digital media. While a staff writer at the ABA Journal, Jason received multiple, national individual and team awards for his science and technology and government reporting.

Fulbright Fellowship, 2012
A fellowship grant from the US State Department to study and promote juvenile diversion reform in the Republic of Kosovo. Taught two courses at the American University of Kosovo.
Fulbright English Teaching Assistant Fellowship, 2007
A fellowship to teach English in two high schools in Linz, Austria.
